11:41am 6th November 2013

Vandals have left a trail of destruction in Weymouth.

Wings mirrors were ripped off several cars in Wyke Regis overnight on Saturday.

The vehicles were parked in Dundee Road and Dunbarton Road.

One had its window smashed.

Police Constable William Taylor, of Weymouth police, said: "These offences are distressing for the car owners and have caused them inconvenience and expense.

"There was an event taking place nearby and a number of people were around at the time that may have seen something or have information that can assist with the investigation.

"I urge anyone who may have witnessed these incidents take place, or may have details about those responsible to come forward.

"It is possible that other vehicles were also damaged in the area, if anyone has any concerns they are asked to phone the police on 101."

No one has been arrested.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting crime number 03:166 and 03:150. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
