Students Sprucing Up Weymouth to Support Good Causes

Wessex iPhone App

1:54pm 6th November 2013

A group of students are doing their bit to keep Weymouth clean today (Wednesday 6th November).

Armed with litter pickers the band of helpers from Weymouth College are walking from their grounds, along the Rodwell Trail and to the Chesil Beach Centre.

In fancy dress, they'll remove any bits of rubbish left lying around and leader Lisa Dixon told Wessex FM they're "all about helping the environment" and the litter pick is raising money for charity.

"We're splitting money between the Weymouth Soup Kitchen that feeds the homeless and a company called the Friendship Club, it’s for people with learning difficulties and it's just like a club where they can hang out."
