Spitfire Lands In Dorset

One of the worlds most loved fighter planes that dominated the skies over Britain during the Second World War has come to Dorset.
The one and only hand built Spitfire replica is on display in Wimborne Square to mark Remembrance Day.
It was put together by Terry Arlow and it took over 20 years to build. His arduous task involved trawling through loads of original pictures of the aircraft which were only on microfilm in a museum archive.
After 8 years of close observation and drawings Terry could start building his iconic Spitfire replica using many refurbished genuine parts from the original planes.
