Service To Be Held For Armistice Day

Poppy Day 1

8:08am 11th November 2013

Yesterday was Remembrance Sunday but fallen heroes are also being commemorated today, exactly 95 years from when guns fell silent to mark the end of the First World War, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.

West Dorset District council Chairman Gillian Summers will be attending Dorset County Council's Remembrance Service at 10.45am and will lay a wreath on the memorial outside County Hall in Dorchester.

A series of commemorations were carried out yesterday across the county.
