Dorset Day At The Houses Of Parliament
7:03am 12th November 2013
The nation's top politicians will be treated to a spread of Dorset's finest food and drink in the houses of Parliament today (Tuesday 12th November).
A selection of local products from cereals and dairy to beer and buns have been taken to London and are ready to be gobbled up by hungry workers at Westminster - thirsty ones too.
The special Dorset showcase was organised by local MP Annette Brooke and the Dorset Food and Drink group who're promoting the counties wide selection of goods and produce.
Katharine Wright of Dorset Food & Drink says, "We are really lucky to have a huge variety of amazing food and drink products and producers in Dorset - as diverse and distinctive as the outstanding landscape - delicious dairy products, meats, bakery goods, confectionery, wines, beers, and much more - not to mention seafood from Dorset's amazing coast!"
Dorset Food & Drink is a membership organisation launched in the summer by the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership to celebrate and promote local food producers and those that work with local food. Although less than a year old, its 56 business members have great collective plans for celebrating, supporting and above all tasting Dorset food and drink.
