See Plans For New Cycle Route
8:55am 14th November 2013
Plans for a permanent cycle route linking Weymouth's Ferry Port and Westham Bridge go on display today (Thursday 14th November).
With a cycle boom across the UK and the rest of Europe the idea is part of the Cycle West project which aims to promote Dorset as a cycle tourism destination.
A temporary route has been in place since the summer but the Council is looking at options for something more permanent for the Borough.
Plans can be viewed at Weymouth library from 1pm to 7pm.
Dorset County Council local member for Weymouth town, Mike Byatt, said:
"This route is an important link between the town centre and the wider local and national cycle network hub at Westham Bridge."
"It will open our area to a new tourism market as well as benefiting local residents. I'd encourage people to come along to the exhibition and take a look at the plans."
