Police Step Up Patrols after Maiden Newton Break-Ins

Dorset Police Car

12:00pm 19th November 2013

Police are doing extra night-time patrols around Maiden Newton after a number of break-ins the past couple of weeks.

Thieves have been targeting outbuildings and sheds in the village, nicking expensive gardening equipment like chainsaws and particularly garden trimmers. Diesel, which is used to power chainsaws, has also been taken too.

Dorset Police is asking residents to ensure they lock-up their buildings properly and to keep an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously around the area.

Inspector Steve Marsh told Wessex FM they'll be carrying out more night time patrols around Maiden Newton in an attempt to deter or catch any criminals.
