(Updated 10:31am 23rd November 2013)

Police are looking for witnesses to a great train robbery in Weymouth.

A locked storage unit in the Bincombe area, off Icen Lane, was broken into with thieves stealing a number of Hornby model trains. The incident happened last week, some time between 8.30pm on Sunday the 17th of November and 7pm on Monday the 18th.

Police Constable Rob Adams, of Weymouth Police, told Wessex FM, "I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information about those responsible to contact Dorset Police. The owners of the toy trains are extremely keen to have them returned. I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered Hornby branded toy trains in unusual circumstances. Anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101."
