Purbeck District Council staff have been donating to the Wareham Food Bank to support families over the Christmas period.

Staff began the collection in October, after noticing an increase in the number of referals they were making to the Food Bank.

"We deliver 7 to 8 parcels every week to people who have been identified as in need," says Lynn Crabb of Churches Together, Wareham and Purbeck; the organisers of the Wareham Food Bank.

The Food Bank are preparing Christmas hampers which will included toys suitable for children aged one and 14 as well as food.

Donations for the Wareham Food Bank can be made at Wareham Parish Hall and Sure Start Children's Centres in Wareham and Bovnigton.
