Cash For Community Groups Up For Grabs
9:08am 10th December 2013
Thousands of pounds could be up for grabs for Dorset community and voluntary groups to grow and build new projects.
The county council is planning ahead to its 2015 spending plan and wants to hear ideas of where it should invest the money in.
The Dorset County Council Fund could be used for buying new equipment or to provide advice to help groups grow.
Leader of the council, Spencer Flower, thinks it's one of the fewer ways groups can access money.
"Despite the fact that we're suffering like all councils from falling funding from the Government, we thought it was particularly important that we encourage community and voluntary organisations, as there are over 4000 in Dorset, to invest and do a few things for themselves."
Groups have until the 6th of January 2014 to submit their views by filling in an online survey HERE.
