Plans To Tackle Human Trafficking In Dorset
8:10am 12th December 2013
Charities and the Police have met for the first time in Dorset, to discuss how they can tackle human trafficking.
They've been discussing local support networks and what services are available to help both international and British victims.
Mandy Goodenough works with victims in the county and says it's not just about sexual exploitation but also slave labour:
"What we want to do, is for other organisations to be able to identify victims so that we can access those people, get them out of those situations and disrupt the traffickers".
"One chap who was going to a soup kitchen to get some food was approached by a trafficker who offered him some work; things then took a very different path."
