A woman from Portland has thanked County Hospital Staff who went "above and beyond the call of duty" when caring for her Dad.
Alex Woodward says she's overwhelmed with the care given to her Dad who passed away last week.
Losing a loved one at Christmas can be especially hard but Alex says the care and support from Staff at Dorset County made her loss easier;
"They are shining examples of what nursing is all about. we tend to hear bad stuff about the NHS, they actually treated my father as if he was a person, not just a patient, they care."
The Nurses and Doctors on the Lulworth Ward at Dorset County Hospital were overwhelmed by her show of gratitude and were grateful to receive appreciation for their hard work;
"It's really great for all the staff because we work really hard on the ward and we are caring and compassionate. It's really lovely patients and their families appreciate the care we give them."
Sadly for the staff at the hospital, work doesn’t stop over the Christmas period, with the same amount of staff working as any other day. So spare a thought for them as you tuck into your turkey.
