Health Officials Offer Advice to Dorset Residents Feeling the Cold this Winter
7:32am 2nd January 2014
Now we're into the coldest part of the winter, NHS Dorset has launched a top tips campaign to help people stay well.
They say cold weather sees an increase in the risk of heart attack, stroke, lung illnesses, flu and other conditions.
Health services see a huge increase in demand , especially with more accidents as people slip on snow and ice.
The campaign gives information including choosing the right healthcare, perparing for coughs and colds, keeping an eye on elderly or vulnerable neighbours, getting the flu vaccine and calling 111.
There's also a selection of short films available here.
