Red diesel

8:25am 2nd January 2014

Police are asking for your help after a large amount of diesel was recovered in Weymouth.

Dorset Officers arrested 3 men on suspicion of theft on Saturday (28th December) and told us they've found approximately 300 litres of red diesel that they think was stolen from people living in and the town.

It was found in 12 large plastic drums.

Officers handling the case are trying to find out where the haul came from and is asking anyone who had diesel stolen recently to get in touch on 101.

Police Constable Andy Dickinson, of Weymouth Police, said: "I am appealing to anyone who has recently discovered a theft of red diesel, or recognises the items pictured, to contact the police as soon as possible.

"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity around farm premises, building sites or similar areas in the last few days."

Three local men, two in their twenties and one in his fifties, have been arrested and released on police bail until the end of January 2014.
