Pinch point West Bay

7:46am 9th January 2014
(Updated 11:59am 10th January 2014)

"It's an accident waiting to happen and we need a pedestrian crossing now."

That's what councillor Ros Kayes thinks of a road junction in West Bay that's been altered as part of the enhancement scheme.

1,700 people have now signed a petition calling for a pedestrian crossing near Haddon House, adjacent to St Johns Church.

Councillor Kayes spoke to Wessex FM to tell us her take on what the problem is.  You can listen to her full interview here:

Cllr Robert Gould, Leader of West Dorset District Council, said: "The district council will discuss a petition regarding the West Bay Enhancement Scheme at a meeting of the Full Council on Thursday 9 January.

"We would like to thank everyone for their feedback and we will continue to work with Dorset County Council to prepare designs for changes to the scheme."
