Inquest Next Month Into Tunnel Tragedy
7:41am 10th January 2014
An inquest into the deaths of 2 pensioners who were tragically killed in a landslide at Beaminster Tunnel goes ahead next month.
62-year-old Rosemary Snell and 72-year-old Michael Rolfe were crushed when tonnes of rock and rubble collapsed down on their car as it entered the tunnel back in July 2012.
Their bodies were found days later by Dorset Fire and Rescue workers who'd joined a cross county search with Police to find them after they were reported missing.
The mudslide was blamed on bad weather that had loosened soil around the tunnel's entrance.
The couples inquest takes place at County Hall in Dorchester on the 25th and 26th of February.
