Dolphin and Cow Washed Up at Chesil Cove After Dorset Storms

11:50am 13th January 2014
(Updated 6:37am 14th January 2014)

A Dolphin and a Cow has been found dead, washed up at Chesil Cove.

Portland Coastguard was called out to assess the dead Dolphin on Saturday (11th January).

It's not yet known how the animal died but it's expected it was pushed over to Chesil during the storms.

The Coastguard will have to record details and provide information on the sea animal to London's Natural History Museum for research.

Portland Coastguard has told Wessex FM the Dolphin wasn't found tangled in fishing net or any other obstructive material.

Volunteers who cleaned up the beach on the weekend confirmed to Wessex FM a dead Cow was also found dead on the beach following the stormy weather across the county.
