Bus Drivers Hold Talks

Talks aimed at averting another bus strike next Monday in Weymouth and Bridport are taking place this morning. (Wednesday 29th January)

Members of the Unite union are in dispute with First Bus over pay, claiming colleagues in other parts of the South West are paid more than they are.

Unite spokesman Bob Lanning claims last week's walkout has helped get First Bus management back to the negotiating table.

He says they've given the company notice of an intended strike on Monday 3rd February, which will go ahead if the two sides don't reach any 'common ground' today.
