Electric Palace Calls For Support

8:08am 10th February 2014
(Updated 6:09pm 11th February 2014)

An entertainment venue in Bridport say they could be forced to close after discovering they've been unknowingly acting outside of their licence.

West Dorset District Council found the Electric Palace are not licenced to play music, show films or allow anyone to drink alcohol in their foyer.

The venue say they've applied to councillors to extend the licence to include the foyer but are worried it'll be denied.  If it is, they state "this could mean the Palace would have to close, as income from the bar is often the only profit we make at many events."

The Electric Palace are asking locals to support their cause by writing or emailing to the licensing department at West Dorset District Council.

The venue says the deadline for any comments to be sent is the 25th of February.
