An elderly couple in Abbotsbury have been left without a phone line to their home for three weeks.
Wessex Water accidentally cut through telephone cables in the village while replacing a water main.
Several people were cut off, their phone lines have now been restored by BT, but that's not the case for Gillian and Mick Kelsey who live in Bishops Close.
"I told them that my husband's got very bad emphysema and I have a heart condition. They say we were top priority - but all we've done is phone them and phone them. And its still not fixed."
"If my husband is taken ill and I need to call a doctor out in the night I will have to go to a neighbours and use their phone."
BT have told Wessex FM:
"There was accidental damage to our underground network by a third party. It has been a major repair job involving the replacement of about 100 metres of underground cable. Our engineers have worked as quickly as they can in sometimes difficult weather conditions. The great majority of the work has now been completed and we hope that any customers still with a fault will have service restored by end of tomorrow. It is possible that some residual work might be needed on Wednesday."
