Commerical Property Goes Under The Hammer
8:31am 12th February 2014
A former takeaway shop in Weymouth and a commercial unit on Groves Trading Estate in Dorchester could find some new owners by the end of today (Wednesday 12th February).
Both are up for auction with sellers saying "the right people" could breathe new life into the properties.
With a guide price of £130-140,000, the takeaway property, with two flats above, is at 32 Abbotsbury Road and is among 14 lots being sold by regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson.
Rob Marchant, auctioneer, said: "There is lapsed planning permission for an extension to the rear of the shop, with a further flat to be added above.
'With the right vision and investment, and subject to all the necessary consents being obtainable, this building could have new life breathed into it, with scope for rental income."
Also going under the hammer, on the instructions of liquidators, is a commercial unit at Wyvern Buildings, 11-14 Grove Trading Estate, Dorchester, with a freehold guide of £180-200,000.
Rob said: "The property offers substantial manufacturing/storage space and a range of mezzanine level offices and stores, all with scope to sub-divide the units, subject to all the necessary consents being obtainable."
The Clive Emson auction is being held at Southampton's Ageas Bowl today from 11am.
