Clearing up's underway after the Dorset coast suffered damage from another severe storm.
Portland was cut off at one stage after 80 mile an hour winds off the coast and reported 30 foot waves prevented even emergency services getting on and off the island with the Causeway under more than four feet of water at one stage.
Flood warning sirens sounded at Chiswell.
A rest centre was opened at Weymouth College for stranded motorists unable to get to the island, and at the Crown Inn and Colfox School at Bridport where parts of West Bay were evacuated.
Dorchester Leisure Centre's closed after its roof suffered damage.
The strong winds also brought down power cables in some places.
