People Warned Over Falling Cliffs in Dorset

7:24am 18th February 2014

We being warned to stay away from cliff edges and beaches as more major cliff falls are expected in Dorset.

East Beach at West Bay was closed on Saturday afternoon after a major incident there, with another at Portland Port.

Mark Rodaway the coastguard commander for Dorset says the weather conditions mean it's almost a certainty more will follow.

" We've put warning signs in place at the most vulnerable areas and I would really urge the public to take notice of them.  We haven't put them out for fun.  They're there for a reason.  We want people to take great care on the cliff path and walking on beaches under the cliffs."
