7:37am 20th February 2014
Local patients are being invited to a special health meeting at Weymouth Community Fire Station this afternoon at 2.30pm.
A forum is being hosted by the Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group.
That's the new body which control's most of the county's £900M NHS budget.
Topics which will be discussed this afternoon include a review of physiotherapy services in the county.
"The Dorset CCG is committed to design services around patients and to engage with patients in all localities," comments WPHN Chairman Michel Hooper-Immins, a Public Governor of Dorset County Hospital, born in and living in Weymouth. "We want to hear from patients in Weymouth and Portland, so they can influence the future shape of health services in our Borough. We are intending to widen our representation by adding some more diverse members and a representatives of every GP surgery in the Borough. The Dorset CCG is committed to ensuring that effective listening mechanisms are put in place and that appropriate actions are taken as a result of what is heard."
