A Portland teenager has become a published novelist.
13-year-old Katie Ingram King, from Portland Aldridge Academy, started her book in November, and had written 40,000 words by the end of the month.
Katie came into the Wessex FM studios to tell us about the novel called "Created" and her hopes for the future.
'I'd like for more people to read it so that I have the confidence to write more. I'm trying to write a sequel now so that should be interesting!'
"Its about one person's escape from government experiments and what happens to her."
Created is now available to buy worldwide and is making healthy sales.
Katie says she was inspired to write the novel after her teacher, Miss Stempien challenged her to take part in National Novel Writing Month.
Katie said: 'My teacher used to say to write the book that you want to read, so I decided to look at the style of books that I read and turn it into my own story.'
'My family are really excited about it and they've given me a lot of feedback on it so it's a good thing.'
'It just proves that there's a novel in everyone!'
The book is now available to purchase as a Kindle edition on Amazon.
