The story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs is being brought back to life on Twitter.
The six farmer labourers were arrested this week in 1834 and were transported to Australia for starting their own union.
The South West TUC is retelling the story in real time on twitter by tweeting key events, including details of their trial.
Nigel Costley, Regional Secretary of the South West TUC, said: "There is a lot of interest in the Martyrs' story - how six humble farm labourers ended up changing history.
"We'll be reporting on the background to the trail and, next month, we'll be reporting from the trial itself, as it happened all those years ago.
"It's a great way to make history come alive and to remember the hardship these brave men went through to enshrine in law the right to join a trade union."
This year's Tolpuddle Martyrs' Festival will be held on 18 - 20 July.
