Students at Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester have been involved in a special programme of events to mark Holocaust Memorial Week.

They've been involved in drama workshops and community lectures with some impressive speakers.

One of them was Lieutenant General Romeo Dallaire, who was the former Commander of the United Nations Assistance Mission to Rwanda.

Meanwhile the story of a Polish Jewish Educator and the harrowing ordeal which faced the children is his care is being retold in Dorchester tonight.

Janusz Korrczak was forced to close his orphanage by the Nazis and 200 youngster he cared for were taken away to gas chambers.

His story is being told in a play by Jonathon Salt at the Thomas Hardye School tonight and will be performed again to students tomorrow.
