Bridport Pupils Grow Their Own School Dinners!
12:03am 2nd March 2014
School children in Bridport are being taught how to grow food to cook their own School Dinners!
St. Mary's primary school have been given a polytunnel for their garden by an anonymous donor, a retiring market gardener.
Headteacher Helen Farmer says they're having a 'Raising the Polytunnel' event on Sunday 2nd of March to prepare the garden for growing fruit and veg, "We are going to make the garden much bigger so people can come along in wellies, boots, old clothes and bring forks and spades. We've got a BBQ going on, some entertainment, some street food. The garden suffered quite a bit of damage during the storms so we'll be looking to reinvigorate it!"
It all starts at 11am and will run until 3pm, everyone's invited to dig in.
