12:02am 9th March 2014
Do you know of any land in West Dorset or Weymouth and Portland that could be developed?
The local council want local people, land agents and developers to come forward with any ideas they have for sites that could be used for housing or employment.
They interested in all sites large or small.
Leader of West Dorset District Council, Robert Gould said:
"The Government is keen to make sure land availability does not prevent the delivery of more homes and all councils across the country are now required to identify future sources of land for housing in their areas.
"Local people, agents and developers often better informed about where potential sites might be located and so we are encouraging them to come forward with suggestions.
"All submissions will be carefully considered but there is no guarantee that a suggested site will be considered suitable for development."
Chairman of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council's Management Committee, Mike Goodman said:
"The findings of the assessment will be used as part if the evidence base of the Local Plan and support the delivery of land to meet the need for more homes in our area.
"We are interested in sites of all sizes, large and small, so if you are aware of somewhere within the borough that might be suitable for development please do get in touch."
