Weymouth College Win Award

Red Weymouth College

9:27am 24th March 2014

An award has been won by Weymouth College for their support of students in care.

The Buttle UK Quality Mark's given to higher education centres who prove they've got a package of support- finatial, pastoral and educational- for pupils either in, or leaving care.

The College is the first college or university in Dorset to gain the award.

Susan Mueller, Buttle UK Quality Mark Manager, told Wessex FM, "We are very pleased with the success of this award and are delighted to extend it to Weymouth College. The College has amply displayed its dedication and initiative to helping young people leaving care to receive an education and have the opportunity to succeed and move on to the next stage of their lives."

She continued, "Our Quality Mark is also a clear way for the College to demonstrate its credentials to partners, funders, inspectorates and the wider community - and importantly to the young people from care themselves."

The award will be formally presented to the College at a ceremony this afternoon at 3pm (24th of March).
