UPDATE: Badger Cull For Dorset?

6:48am 27th March 2014
(Updated 9:06am 27th March 2014)

It's understood any decision on a possible badger cull in Dorset has been delayed till next week.

An independent panel of experts have been looking into the success of pilot culls in Somerset and Gloucestshire.

Some of their report had been leaked and it's RUMOURED Dorset was to be named as a new killing zone.

Campaign group Dorset for Badger and Bovine Welfare have been campaigning to protect the animals and are calling for the authorities to join a vaccination programme instead.

The pilot culls in Somerset and Gloucestershire were largely unsuccessful with the numbers of badgers killed lower than expected. One of the culls was abandoned.
