Weymouth Sea Defences Rebuilt
9:19am 27th March 2014
Sea defences in Weymouth that were washed away during the storms have been rebuilt along the seafront.
Huge boulders have been buried along Preston beach and 4 thousand tonnes of rock put under the shingle.
The local authorities say improvement works will protect homes at Lodmoor and Overcombe from future high tides.
At the height of the storms Preston beach road had to be closed numerous times to protect people from waves crashing over the sea defences.
