Ros Fights For Route 47

It's D-Day for Route 47.

Dorset County Council's Overview Environment Committee meet later to make a decision about its future after a
near 2,000  signature petition was handed in at County Hall by campaigners trying to save the bus route from Bridport to Yeovil, which is threatened with closure.

First Dorset have agreed to run the service till the end of the college summer term as many of those who use the service are students. The Sunday and Bank Holiday service is due to stop next month.

County Councillor for Bridport, and Lib Dem Prospective parliamentary Candidate, Ros Kayes, who's supporting the campaign, will speak at the meeting to ask Dorset's Cabinet for help.

She says some people may have to give up jobs and college courses if funding's not forthcoming to run the bus service.
