Terracotta Warriors 40th Anniversary

Dorchester 's Terracotta Warriors Museum has come up with an unique way of celebrating the 40th anniversary of discovering thousands of life sized terracotta statues.
Visitors there today will be given a statue of a kneeling crossbowman in a presentation box.
On this day in 1974 a group of Chinese farmers who had been digging a well near the tomb of the first Emperor of China broke into the pit of warriors..archaeologists found the pit contained some six thousand statues.
