Magpies Loss Brings them Closer to Relegation ... But there is Hope!

With just 6 games left this season Dorchester Town's chances of avoiding the drop are slipping away fast.

They were thrashed 3-0 by Maidenhead United at the Avenue last night (1st April).

The Magpies started strong with a staunch defence and some promising attacking moves upfront before they fell to pieces in the second half, conceding all 3 goals.

The last few games have been disappointing for Manager Phil Simkin after his team put together a good run between February and March claiming 12 points from 10 games. Now that might not sound like much but compared to their lacklustre performances last year, the improvement came as a revelation.

The results gave fans hope their team might avoid relegation, but that dream is fading fast.

The Magpies will need to win their remaining 6 matches to stand a chance of staying in the Skrill South.

But there is hope, half of the 6 matches left are on home turf and 5 of them are against struggling teams in the leagues bottom seven.

Only one fixture is against a top side that’re pushing for a top place.

Dorchester's next match is against Hayes and Yeading United on the road this Saturday (5th April).
