Protect Yourself From Thieves This Easter

Dorset Police Car

8:27am 7th April 2014
(Updated 8:28am 7th April 2014)

There’ve been 166 fewer burglaries in Dorset since April last year, with total burglary crime in the county falling by 9.1%, according to Dorset Police.

They want to remind you to stay vigilant against thieves this Easter.

They've brought out a list of tips to keep your home safe if you're out or away on holiday:

Check your home is securely locked - windows and doors.

Don't leave valuables or cash on display.

Check garages and sheds are secure too.

Detective Inspector Dilworth is also encouraging the public to be vigilant against burglars and to contact Dorset Police if they see anything suspicious.

“Please keep your eyes peeled for anyone acting suspiciously in your area.

“If you see something suspicious, or if you think a burglary is taking place, please call the police immediately.”
