9:22am 9th April 2014
Tributes are being paid for a West Dorset vicar who's died in what's thought to be a rowing accident.
The body of Reverend Bob Thorn was found on Seatown Beach on Monday after his boat was discovered washed ashore.
Reverend Thorn was the vicar for Burton Bradstock, the Rector of the Bride Valley benefice and a much loved member of the local community.
In a statement, the Bishop of Salisbury, The Right Reverend Nicholas Holtam said:
"I was devastated to learn of the death of the Revd Bob Thorn, Rector of the Bride Valley Benefice, in a rowing accident on Monday 7 April.
"Bob was a remarkable man of incredible determination. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jean, who is also a priest and with whom he shared much of his ministry, and with his children.
"Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course."
