Can You Spot The Symptoms Of Bowel Cancer?
10:10am 9th April 2014
Health professionals are warning people in Dorset to learn the symptoms of bowel cancer, to improve chances of survival.
It's the third most common type of cancer with around 43 people dying from the condition every day.
Common symptom include a pain or lump in your tummy, feeling tired and losing weight for no obvious reason.
NHS Dorset says anyone concerned should contact their GP.
Macmillan GP Dr Paul Barker said, "Spotting the possible signs of cancer is very important, as the earlier you receive diagnosis the more likely it is that you can be successfully treated.
If you are concerned, go and see your local GP - if it turns out to be nothing serious you aren't wasting your time. But if it is cancer we can get you on the road to treatment more quickly.
A trip to your doctor's surgery could save your life".
