Nearly £100,000 has been awarded to Bridport Museum so they can start planning their future!

Money's come from the Heritage Lottery Fund and will be used to develop plans to update the museum which is housed in the second oldest building in town.

We spoke to Bridport Museum's Curator Emily Hicks who said the £97,000 they got is only initial support but that it'll help them apply for the £1 million needed for redevelopment.

Emily told us what the Bridport Museum trust were hoping to do, "to change all the displays over to fully celebrate the town's heritage- particularly it's rope and net making industry. So the final vision eventually, a few years down the line - fingers crossed- we may have a part-size working ropewalk."
