Dorset's PCC Underhill "Delighted" with Award

Martyn Underhill

10:19am 14th April 2014

Dorset's Police and Crime Commissioner has won an award for his efforts in the local community.

Martyn Underhill is to receive the Community Engagement prize from the Comparing PCC's organisation.

The award is given to Commissioners who engage and work closely with members of the public.

CoPaCC looked at 41 other offices in England and Wales in the process of selecting their winner.

Dorset's Underhill has said he's "delighted" to win the award;

"As the PCC, I am the voice of the public so it is important that the public tell me their issues.

I have made direct contact with thousands of people through my PCC Forums, surgeries and correspondence.

I would like to thank my team, advocates and volunteers for all their hard work over the last year.

I strongly believe that by working together, we can create a safer Dorset."
