Special Service in Memory of Burton Bradstock Vicar

St Mary's Church, Burton Bradstock - Bob Thorn

Church leaders in Dorset will preside over a special service this Saturday to remember the former Burton Bradstock vicar, Rev. Bob Thorn.

The Bishop of Salisbury and the Archdeacon of Sherborne will officiate at the Requiem Eucharist at his church, St Mary the Virgin, at 11am.

Reverend Bob, who was Team Rector of the Bride Valley group of churches, died in a rowing accident.

He had been taking part in a pilgrimage which involved him rowing to Cornwall.

His body was washed up on Seatown beach last week. Many tributes have been paid to him, including in the national media.

Among them, he's been described as an extraordinary vicar, and a remarkable man.
