Dorset Police Looking to Recruit Officers Outside the County
7:47am 17th April 2014
Dorset Police are adding to their ranks.
They're looking for 25 uniform constables and firearms officers to work in the county.
The positions are open to officers who are working at other forces, and who want to transfer to Dorset.
It comes on top of their recruitment drive for NEW constables, which is the first external campaign for four years.
Chief Constable Debbie Simpson said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for current serving police constables to join the Dorset Police team and help make a difference. We are fortunate to police a beautiful and diverse county which attracts millions of visitors each year.
"I'd encourage anyone who is interested in forging a career with Dorset Police to visit our website and find out more."
Police and Crime Commissioner, Martyn Underhill, said: "Dorset Police officers operate at the heart of the community, ensuring safety and security to those who work, live and visit the county.
"Despite operating in austere times, we have to balance the workforce. It is right that we bring more officers into the policing family. We are striving to provide a more visible force, with an emphasis on neighbourhood policing."
