Dray Horse Statue Paraded Through Dorchester
8:10am 19th April 2014
A bronze statue of a dray horse will be paraded through Dorchester town centre today.
The procession will start at the town pump at midday and will end at Brewery Square, where the horse will become the centrepiece of Dray Horse Yard.
The horse, which was made by sculptor Shirley Pace, pays tribute to the development's history.
The Parade will also include a Dixieland Jazz Band, an original 1947 Eldridge Pope Austin Dray, the Mayor of Dorchester and the Town Crier.
Members of the public are being invited to follow on foot.
