Over 50's Dance Day In Bridport
8:04am 26th April 2014
A group of over 50's will be showing audiences in Bridport tonight, it's never too late to take to the stage.
They'll be performing a contemporary dance showcase at Bridport Arts Centre.
They're part of a group called "A Dance A Day" which runs workshops to help older people stay physically and mentally well.
Studies have linked regualr exercise in older age to improving memory and possibly protecting against the onset of dementia.
"They say we should dance as if no one is watching, but the great thing about A Dance A Day is that it gives us the
confidence to dance knowing people will be watching," says 64 year old Margie Savory, who attends the Charmouth Group.
A Dance A Day will perform the dance double bill of The Buttercup and The Crutch by Karla Shacklock Company at Bridport Arts Centre tonight, 7.30pm.
