Woman Suffers Injury During Alleged Daytime Attack in Dorchester

An appeal is out after a woman was allegedly attacked by a man in Dorchester town centre in broad daylight.
The incident is said to have happened along Bowling Alley Walk at between 1pm and 1:30pm on Saturday (3rd May).
Members of the public stepped in to help the 49 year old woman who sustained injuries and had to go to hospital for treatment.
A 41 year old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of affray and has been released pending Police enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Ed Meanwell, of Weymouth CID, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything that can help with the investigation.
"It is believed several members of the public walked past and may have seen or heard something that could assist us with our enquiries.
"I am particularly keen to hear from people who may have intervened or helped while the incident was taking place.
"I urge witnesses and anyone with information about the incident to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible."
