Get an Exclusive Look Behind the Scenes at Dorset County Council
8:39am 15th May 2014
If you've ever fancied seeing what the leaders of Dorset County Council get up on a day, there might be a chance for you.
Chief Executive Debbie Ward has put herself forward for a charity auction where the winner gets to shadow her for the day.
The Council says the day will provide a unique chance to share thoughts and opinions directly with their most senior officer, as well as giving an insight into the wide ranging work of the county council and how key decisions are made.
It's all to raise money for Children with Cancer UK and the Jurassic Coast Trust.
Debbie said they want to learn from their guest with the winning bid too;
"This offer of time builds on our county-wide consultation programme, Ask Dorset, where we'll soon be out and about across the county to find out what's important to local people and how we can help improve lives. It is also an opportunity to raise money for two really important charities.
"I hope people bid, and that the winner will find it interesting to see what the county council does. For me, this is an ideal opportunity to listen to one resident's opinions in greater detail. I'm really looking forward to the prospect and will make sure we organise a varied day."
The winner will be announced at a Charity Music Night on Friday, 16 May at Durlston Castle, Swanage.
To bid for this opportunity, email firstname.lastname@example.org clearly stating the amount you would like to pledge to spend a day with Debbie Ward.
