Dorset Teacher Making the Grade!

A Dorset secondary school teacher's been selected out of 20,000 around the UK to win a National Award.

Carly Jones from The Purbeck School in Wareham's been given a Silver in the Outstanding New teacher of the Year category from the Pearson Teaching Awards 2014.

The Pearson Teachiong Awards are described as an annual celebration of exceptional teachers and teaching and recognise the life-changing impact of an inspirational teacher on the lives of the young people they teach.

Carly Jones has been teaching for two years, and is Assistant Head of English at the Purbeck School.

Carly will attend a televised awards ceremony in London after the Summer (26th of October) where 10 Silver Award winners will receive a Gold award.
