Coastguards and Inshore Rescue Teams Busy

11:20am 26th May 2014

It's been a busy weekend so far for those keeping us safe on or around the Dorset coast.

Amongst them, The coastguard helicopter was needed to help a climber stuck on cliffs near Swanage suffering from a broken rib.

They also flew a woman with serious injuries after a riding accident from Wincanton to Southampton General.

A full scale search by sea and air for a trawler reporting missing from Abbotsbury for 3 hours found the vessel.
It's VHF radio wasn't working properly.

At sea, a man under Stone Barrow near Lyme Regis was rescued moments before an incoming tide would have cut him off.
Two vessels with engine failure were brought ashore and coastguards helped South West Ambulance get to a patient suffering breathing difficulties at Durdle Door.
