Controversial Martinstown Bus Changes Come into Force
8:24am 27th May 2014
Controversial changes to a popular bus route from Martinstown come into effect today (Tuesday 27th May).
Campaigners had been fighting for months to save the Number 31 that used to run hourly but will now only run once in the morning and afternoon.
People living in the village say they're now stranded with few ways to get into Dorchester.
Bus Operator First Dorset made the changes to improve reliability and match service demands.
A petition was launched to try and save the route and it gained 400 signatures and the backing from West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin.
It's thought campaigners will try and challenge First over lack of public consultation.
