Public Support Helps Bargain Food Shop To Stay Open

The owner of a cut price food shop in Weymouth has been told he can stay open after a huge outpouring of public support.
Bargain Brand Food Outlet in Lynch Lane used to be a garage, and West Dorset District Council has now agreed to grant a change of use for the premises.
Owner Colin Williams asked Wessex FM listeners to write to the Council to back their cause.
He's delighted people power has won through:
"I can't get on with my day today, because there are so many customers coming in and they are as happy as I am about it. A lot of customers were worried we were going to have to close and they were going to struggle to put food on the table for the children."
"We have a lot of people coming from Dorchester, Shaftesbury and Poole and Bournemouth. Now that we have got the go ahead to stay open, we can push this on further and further."
